Almost every cow in Switzerland has two bells for its  neck.  One to wear for most of the year while it is in the field in the mountians and the other (the dressier version)  for the trip up to the mountains in early summer and the trip back down from the mountains in the early fall.  These are the bells for the trip up and down, hanging under the overhanging roof of a farm house near Gstaad.
