Third Day.    Walk to Trient

As we reached the French border with Switzerland, we stopped for lunch and time to take our last close up look at
the Mount Blanc massif. One of the highest mountains in Europe it also provides one of the "20 Classic Walks of the World",
the Tour du Mont Blanc, a walk all the way around its base. It is spectacular and, as we ate our lunch that day and gazed
over its snow and glacier covered peak, we could only image how old the snow was at the bottom of the glaciers and how
many people had actually hiked the TMB. The day was inspiring and the mountain beautiful, but Switzerland beckoned and we
started down into the Valle de Trient.
