A Trek through the French and Swiss Alps 2000
Chamonix, France
The first night in Chamonix we stopped by a neat little restaurant to
have what Patricia called an
"interactive dinner." That is a chunk of Raclette between us in a contraption
that had hot coals
inside. The raclette melts, you scrape it off and put it on boiled
potatoes. And yes, you are right that
is a caraffe of cheap, red, local wine in front of us on the table.
What a way to start the trip.
