This sign is symbolic of the trip and another event that was going on in Chamonix at the same time.  The day that we were there there was a vintage car event that started early in the morning and ended in in the evening in Chamonix.  The vintage cars circumnavigated the Mont Blanc Massif.  It takes walkers 15 days to do the trip and the cars did it in a day.
