While walking at the edge of a park on a Wednesday afternoon, about midday, I was passed by a group of cyclists. It was a club of boys and their fathers, it appeared, with only one young girl. They were in their team jerseys and on mountain bikes. They had assembled in a small town nearby and headed off for the trails in the woods.
