| In Zermatt "Tombstone" is not the name
of a Pizza company. This photo, taken in a special section of the Zermatt Cemetary now used only for climbers, makes a poignant statement. The climber, apparently an American, was only 17 years old. He died while climbing the Breithorn, the mountain that Chris and I climbed while we were there. It is not a difficult climb at all, and one can only imagine what might have caused him to fall. But, the inscription on the tombstone says it all... "I chose to climb." |
